Guidance and advice can be given in respect of any concerns about being or becoming a victim of identity theft. ARAG will help restore an insured person’s identity and credit status if they have become a victim of identity theft.
The Identity Theft Resolution Helpline will provide telephone advice and a personal action plan to help regain the insured person’s identity. The action plan could include information on how to obtain credit reports, which organisations to contact, how to file a police report and template letters.
If a claim is made for Identity Theft Protection the insured person may be required to provide documented evidence such as requests from providers of finance or credit for the repayment of debt, receipts for expenses the insured person has incurred, invoices for loan rejection fees and proof of earnings.
